MAINTENANCE / REPAIR

Wanaka Marine Evolved in the early eighties as a service based company and our continuing focus on this ensures that we offer the most up to date facilities and technology which, together with ongoing technical training, assures our customers of reliability, quality and peace of mind.

Technicians, Tim and Donald are lead by our workshop manager, Vern Hill, and together they have a wealth of marine technical knowledge to assist you in all your boating matters. Lynette and her staff in the front office and shop can assist with all boating equipment and water sports equipment from anchors to zodiacs –and if we have not got it we can usually get it!

The service division is also responsible for the rigging of new boats, to the highest standards, and for the research and development of our own product range.

Wanaka Marine is specifically a certified service agent for arguably the best marine motor company in the world - Mercury. We don't need to sell anything else - they have it all.

From the Mercruiser Range to the smallest 2 stroke, we can look after your asset and maintain it so that you will get year after year of hassle free boating.

It is important to remember that to maintain your Mercury engine warranty, you do need to ensure your service is carried out by a certified service center with quality technicians! We are that. Wanaka Marines reputation is enhanced via the fact that many clients travel from Invercargill or Christchurch - and further, just to have their technical servicing done on their boats!

For the regular boater, we use a menu pricing system for general maintenance. This allows for no surprises when the bill comes - the customer has an idea of how long and what the service should cost. A check sheet that itemizes what the customer should expect, and did get, as part of their service, comes with the account- that way we can all see what was done for the service and accompanying notes notify the customer of any arising problems.
As Vern, the workshop manager says, "Boaters need to be aware that it will cost them around $350 a year to maintain their boat. Whether they want to spend that each year or let it accumulate is up to them."
Experience tells us that those who let it accumulate, pay the interest also!!!

The Standard Service

It is interesting to note that the standard service we give exceeds that given by many of our competitors, yet they charge similar rates!

Why?

'Cos we care about our customers on the water and on the land pleasure and we want to be the best at servicing that!
